  • You will Google something like “The impact of family and community partnerships on student classroom performance” and use the Helmke Library E-Journal Finder while looking at the research literature in about 4-5 of the listings (established literature since 2010 such as Epstein, etc.) regarding family and community partnerships.
  • You will then read the chosen sources looking for what the authors say about their research as to why these partnerships are important for student classroom success. Be sure to include how the authors suggest working with families with diverse backgrounds, such as including the importance of developing partnerships, new definitions of family involvement, and working with diverse families, such as single parents, non-English-speaking families, parents who work multiple jobs, etc.
  • Lastly, you will write a 6+ page document with a running head, plus a Title Page & Reference Page, outlining your findings and giving your opinions on the various areas discussed by the researchers including a summary paragraph outlining your findings.

You will mainly be utilizing information from Chapter 10 in the Positive Classroom text, as well as your Grant & Ray text, along with articles by Dr. Joyce Epstein. A total of 5+ resources should be included in the body of your paper and on your reference page.
