Write an Annotated Bibliography

The topic to my research paper is homeschooling.

1. You should annotate four credible sources. One of them should oppose your position.

2. Write a thesis statement for your research paper: a claim + three reasons, This is my thesis but you can fix it for me in the right way

Thesis statement: Homeschools are gaining popularity due to their advantages over public schools. In a homeschool the environment is safe and parents feel their children are secured. The children are free from the danger of drugs, unwanted religion by the parents, and bullying. Each environment holds specific and helpful opportunities for children to learn. But as a parent, only you can determine which environment is helpful and suitable for your child.

3. Annotate each source. Here is what you should do for each source:

a) First, provide a reference entry for the source that is correctly formatted in MLA.

b) Then, provide a thoughtful summary of the source (at least 3-4 sentences). Do not include your own thoughts in the summary. There should not be direct quotes from the source. Provide a parenthetical citation after the summary, e.g., (Smith 123) or (Doe, par. 5).

c) Assess the credibility and significance of the source.

d) Lastly, reflect upon the value of that source to your essay. Are you going to use the source to support your position or as an opposing viewpoint and you are going to refute it?

4. At the end of the assignment, on a new page, provide Works Cited page that is formatted in MLA.
