Good description always makes some type of connection to the audience (has a purpose to the writing that is worthwhile for the reader). Essays must be MLA formatted, including an interesting title.

1. Describe a generation – the younger generation, your generation, or the older generation. What are the typical attitudes, behaviors and mentality of this generation? What should we learn from this generation?

2. Describe a cultural icon (such as an entertainer or a prominent building). How did this person or object become iconic? What biases or ideals does s/he or it represent and are those ideals good or bad for society?

3. Describe a problem in your community – rudeness, traffic, noise, schools, crime. How and why does this problem exist and what are the consequences of this problem? What possible solutions could be put in place to correct this problem?

-Sensory imagery
