Discuss implications for practice/research
Evidence-based practice is a problem solving approach to clinical practice that integrates the conscientious use of best evidence in combination with a clinician?s expertise, as well as patient preferences and values to make decisions about the plan of care.
The overall aim of EBP is to standardize practice by maximizing good practice, reduce costs, and improve quality of care. You will choose an EBP topic that is of interest to you, research the literature, and create a presentation. This presentation will be shared with classmates.
Since dissemination of information is an essential piece of scholarship, during Week Fifteen you will be sharing your presentation with your peers and will be giving constructive feedback to each other using the grading rubric provided.
Please obtain approval for your topic from the instructor PRIOR to beginning the presentation.
Your presentation should not exceed twenty slides (excluding references).

By the end of this project, you will be able to:
Identify a clinical issue of interest.
Formulate a searchable, answerable question related to the clinical issue.
Perform a focused literature search.
Conduct a critical appraisal and synthesis of evidence.
Conduct a comparative analysis of the evidence versus clinical practice.
Evidence-Based Review of Clinical Topic Presentation
? Define practice issue/problem in advanced practice nursing
? Background information/clinical significance
? Describe search strategy
Integration and Synthesis of the Evidence*
? Present the evidence
? Critique the evidence
? Identify themes across the studies (minimum of three studies)
Comparative Evaluation of the Evidence to Practice*
Synthesize the findings in relation to your own practice issue or
problem using substantiating evidence from the literature.
Address these areas:
? Comparison of findings with your own practice
? Feasibility of changing practice
? Barriers to change: perceived or real
? Restate key findings
? Discuss implications for practice/research
? Appropriate sources
? Citations in presentation
? References in APA format
? Unity/Order ? presentation stays on topic, sense of flow
