For each commentary you may write on any one of the following (3 paragraphs at most). You will then write a short response to comments from two of you classmates in the group you selected. Your response must go beyond “I agree/disagree” or “that is a good/bad idea”. Treat it as a conversation. Suggest paths for further reflection. Explain the “why” of your response. You will need to join one of the five discussion groups each time. Groups are limited to 20 members each.

Environmental observation: Look at the world around you and compose an observation. Perhaps you have noticed a lack of bees in your garden this spring. Write up what you have noticed and maybe look on the web to see if there is a reason. Or perhaps you noticed a business watering their sidewalk. You could look up how many gallons of water are lost and perhaps write a letter to the business and share their response. Visit the Botanic Gardens, a park. This is very open ended.

Watch a documentary and write a short reflection.

Write a response to a reading, assigned or not. Ask a thought provoking question and offer an answer.
