Class: You are fortunate to have grown up in a diverse environment. Not everyone has had the opportunity to interact with people of diversity and different cultures as you have had by living in Hawaii. Diversity is more than nationality, culture, race or religion. Diversity includes all the ways people are different from age, gender, physical characteristics (height, weight, shape, limitations) and even economic and educational background. Diversity just exists in every place and at all times because all people have unique attributes and value. The key in every organization is to help employees understand the value all employees bring to the organization. In an organization where diversity is valued and appreciated there is a more positive work environment and work relationships. That leads to more retention, more satisfied employees and more productivity.
